I set out last week to plan a reset for this newsletter—and then to share the plan in a series of Daily Notes. I was almost all the way there when . . . .
I discovered that 222 posts had been published in the history of Tarot | An Exploration Project.
Exactly that number, as of June 25th.
As long-time readers will know, I’m extremely attached to the number 22. It’s very important in my approach to Tarot, and one of these days, I’ll offer a round-up of all the posts that say something about 22—and 11, which I also love a lot.
Beyond any theoretical aspects, I’m also rather superstitious about numbers in general, and those two in particular. So when I noticed 222 on the Substack dashboard, my thoughts raced off in several directions.
Is this a point of completion?
Or do I need to rethink my reset plan?
Or . . . . ?
At that point, I decided to take a step back and hope for clarification. It often seems to me that signs are easy to spot, but I rarely know which way they are pointing.
Much information—few instructions!
In this case, however, I got something instructional the very next day, in the form of an email sent out to Substack writers:
I hadn’t thought about 222 as a “milestone”—and in fact hadn’t ever thought about any milestones at all for EP. I just kept writing, rethinking, and writing some more.
Looking back, I can see more about how those cycles went round. Reflections that may fit in nicely with the second thing I’m supposed to do in preparing the perfect milestone post:
Lessons will be coming soon! Plus a special thank-you surprise. And there’s a quick dashboard peek above.
So now we are at “share your vision”—and right back at this week’s inflection point. I had realized it was time for a renewed vision of EP, and thought I was on the right track. But looking at that milestone number, I realized the “reset” I had in mind needs to be more of a “reboot.”
And rather than talking about my realization, I’m just going to put it in action.
Therefore: Look for a new EP experience starting July 5. The same spirit of exploration, but a more effective, sustainable publishing approach.
I’ll close with an extra peek at the dashboard, which shows that EP has been getting “out and about” quite a bit:
For those of you in the United States—Happy 4th of July! And to everyone, wherever you are, thanks so much for reading.
As always, C
