Hi Cynthia,

Thanks for the update.

I`m going to have a crack at your questions again, if you don`t mind.

Should responsible Tarot practitioners try to educate people to avoid charlatans?

I don`t think that it`s possible. One man`s charlatan is another`s world saviour as even a quick glance at the news these days will illustrate.

Do people who embrace alternative beliefs tend to lack critical thinking skills?

The truth is that many alternative beliefs and spiritual disciplines actually encourage people to believe that critical thinking skills are a hindrance on the path.

Even when this is not overtly the case the answer to the question is very often, yes.

Are we “users” of Tarot—or is it the other way around?

If someone tries to control the Tarot, what else will they be wanting to control? Their customers, most likely.

The way round all of this is to be co-operative ,creative and yes, follow the cards.

I get the sense that this is what you are doing and I appreciate that.

I really appreciate the dialogue, Philippe--take as many cracks as you like!

Not entirely sure yet, but think I'm edging up on some answers of my own. Or at least I have a direction, and some pieces in place. Planning to share soon, and will look forward to your thoughts. C
